Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Murasaki" mean?

"Murasaki" (pronounced Moo-rah-sah-kee) means "purple" in Japanese. At Murasaki Media, the Japanese culture intrigues us and inspires our creativity. We admire the clean and simple approach to filming and strive for a classic look to our projects. We want your product to be as timeless as possible while maintaining a modern feel.

What can we expect during a consultation?

Consultations are a free service and usually last 30 minutes. We will get to know more about you and your video needs to determine which service will fit you best. We will have plenty of samples for you to view and will answer any questions you may have.

We already hired a photographer, do we really need a videographer?

This is a personal choice every couple needs to make. Video is a medium that will capture your memories differently than photography. You will hear every word of a speech, see live action dancing at your reception, and witness details that you may have missed during the day. Often, clients tell us that they are grateful they hired us and would recommend videography as a MUST have.

Will we really watch our video years from now?

Yes! Our clients tell us that they watch their videos over and over throughout the years. More so, you can watch and share their highlight montages online with friends and family. Some have told us that they can not wait to show their future children and grandchildren.

How should we act in front of the camera?

We want our shots to be natural and true to the events that occurred during the event, not staged. There is no acting required, just be yourself. However, be aware that the camera could be on even if you do not see one. Keep smiling even after the photo is taken, enjoy your day - remaining stress free will ensure a great video.

How long will it take to receive our video?

Our work doesn't stop after your reception. In fact, the majority of our time is spent after your party has ended. We will upload your footage to our hard drives, edit it into a feature presentation, adjust color and audio, find appropriate music, view your clips over and over, author a DVD menu with chapters, burn to disk and create your packaging. This process is done with care and takes time to complete so that you can have a product you love. Most projects are complete within 8 weeks after the event.

Do you offer services other than what is listed in your packages?

Yes! Photo montages, maternity videos, extra hours of coverage, love stories and save-the-dates are just a few examples. Want something creative? We'd love to develop a cost effective way to make it happen.
