Ask A Planner – “How do I find the perfect wedding venue?”

August 22

A few months ago, we announced our panel of planners for our video blog series, “Ask a Planner”. It has been a fun learning each planner and they have been giving great advice. Last time, we asked if brides and grooms should have a first look prior to their ceremony. You can view the video answers to that question by clicking here.

Part two of our series answers, “how do I find the perfect wedding venue?” This is a very important question that arises at the beginning of your wedding planning. Take the tips from our panel into consideration by watching what they have to say below.

Do you have a question for our planners? Ask below in the comments section and it might be featured in our next video blog post.

Why We LOVE Our Clients

August 10

Our clients R O C K. It is as plain and simple as that. Another wedding vendor asked us why we do what we do and we did not hesitate to answer, “it’s our clients!”  We are very fortunate to have clients that not only adore what we do, they also appreciate our time and talent. I began a conversation in a filmmaker forum on Facebook and found “awesome clients” to be a common thread in our video world.

For example, Tammy  Eichholz Akard from Sweet Tea Video said, “One of my brides sent me an email in all caps with a huge font telling me how much she loved her wedding film. I’ve also received a hand written note in the mail with a spa gift card. I was blown away. But really, a little goes a long way. If we can eat a hot meal when the guests are eating, we are good.”

A snapshot from a Thank You that recently came in the mail. We love it!

And our friend, Erin Korbylo from Classic Pixels in Louisville, KY said, “ Last year, I got a card in the mail. It was from a client. Their anniversary just passed and they  watched their film. They wanted to write and say how much they appreciated having us at their wedding and capturing everything so beautifully. It meant a lot because it was over a year later and they loved their film even more than the first time.”

I started to think back to our past clients and how they made us feel before, during and after their event. Once, a couple invited us to a dinner to get to know each other. Another time, during a reception, a bride made her way to us just to ask if we had enough to eat. And recently, a couple gave us a generous gift basket as a thank you. It really is the thought that counts. The sweet words on thank you notes, the big hug when they see us walk in the bridal suite and the wonderful reviews of our services go a LONG way. We appreciate clients that appreciate us.

Our clients R O C K! It is as plain and simple as that.

Carolyn and Jeff Wedding Highlights

June 24

Video Still from Wedding Highlight Film

Imagine your guests gathered around you, the bridal party lined up on each side, the officiant stating your commitment to one another, and Darth Vader handing over your wedding rings. What?! It’s true! That is what Carolyn and Jeff did for their wedding at Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido, CA. This wedding showcased the  originality of Carolyn and Jeff as they stepped outside of the traditional wedding details.

It was a pleasure to be a part of Carolyn and Jeff’s day because we felt a part of the family from day one. Carolyn went out of her way to make her team of wedding vendors feel special and at home. She even made sure we had enough of the wonderful food and insisted we have more. We are grateful to produce wedding films for such wonderful people.

After you watch the highlights, cruise on over to see the fabulous photos from Ohana Photography. You won’t believe some of the awesome images they captured. Kimi and David were more than a joy to work with and will make any wedding photo fun and glamourous.

What to Expect at a Wedding Consultation

June 2

The initial consultation with our couples is similar to a first date. Our goal is to get to know you as a couple. We want to know what makes your relationship special and what makes your wedding unique. Sometimes we meet over coffee or even over a glass of wine. Sometimes, it makes sense to have a phone call or Skype instead. We want to make your consultation as easy as possible, so the choice is yours. Here is what you can expect at your wedding consultation.

All About You: First things first, we want to know all about you and your wedding. How did you meet? What do you do for a living? Describe your proposal. All of these things make up your story. Your story will shine on your wedding day throughout the event and in the event details. When we create your film, we want to tell your story and knowing about you as a couple will assist us in creating that connection. Often, the back story makes a great love story you can share at your reception. The more you tell us, the more we can incorporate in your video.

Your Video Expectations: What are your video needs and expectations? Our clients hire us to film their weddings because they admire our style and creativity. They appreciate our realistic approach in finding the personality of the day and weaving the days events into something beautiful. During this part of the consultation, we will learn what you like and do not like about wedding films and determine if we are your ideal filmmakers. We hope to be a match made in heaven.

Our Part: We will then explain how we can achieve your expectations of your wedding video using our menu of services. It is our goal to provide a service that exceeds your expectations and knocks your socks off. Our clients want the best of what we have to offer and love the variety we can offer. Have any questions? Ask us now and we will answer them all. Forgot to ask something? Just send us an email, we are always here to answer with a timely response.

Too set up your free wedding consultation, email us info@murasakimedia.com. We can not wait to meet you.

Military Monday

June 1

A few weeks ago we had the privilege of filming two Military Monday weddings in La Jolla. Military Monday’s are free elopement services provided to active military by Rev. Christopher Tuttle from Vows From The Heart Ministries LLC. Rev. Tuttle send requests for wedding service providers, such as florists, photographers and musicians. These service professionals volunteer their time to honor the military and to thank them for their commitment to serve our country. Although service providers are not guaranteed to be a part of every Military Monday, we try to be a part of the ceremonies whenever possible.

Below are two short teasers of the ceremonies Rev. Tuttle generously provides to couples seeking his officiant services. For more information, contact Rev. Tuttle at freemilitaryelopement.com. Not in the military? Rev. Tuttle can provide officiant services for your wedding too. Visit vowsfromtheheart.com for more information.
