What to Expect at a Birth Announcement Shoot

The week of giving birth tends to be hectic. However, the first week of birth is the optimal time to film your Video Birth Announcement. Murasaki Media wants to make your shoot as easy as possible. Here is what to expect at your Video Birth Announcement Shoot.

Set Up: After you have called or emailed us to schedule your shoot, we will come to your home within the first few weeks of birth to film your precious new bundle. We will take a look at various rooms to determine the best locations to film. Our approach to filming newborns is to film in a natural environment. We do very little staging, if any, and want to capture the baby as they are, in the moment. Next, we will set up a camera and prepare to start.

Filming: This part is easy for mom and dad because we do all the work. You can watch or you may tend to the baby as you normally would. Birth Announcement shoots last about an hour. We leave plenty of time for diaper changes and feedings in between shots.

Delivery: Once we leave, our work has just begun. We will take your footage, review it and edit it into a masterpiece you can share with family and friends. Let us know if you would like us to include birth stats as part of the announcement. After a few weeks, we will send you an email letting you know that your Video Birth Announcement is complete. Make sure to have tissues handy, there might be a tear or two.

Special Thanks to Milisa Lin Photography for providing the photo for this blog post.
